“A Rainbow of Rhythms” – 2019 Chinese Musicians Spring Festival Concert is about to play a melodious chapter in the Chinese New Year Celebration in the Twin Cities.

On the occasion of the arrival of the 2019 Chinese New Year, the Year of Pig, “A Rainbow of Rhythms” – 2019 Chinese Musicians Spring Festival Concert, hosted by the Minnesota Chinese World will be held at the Minnesota Masonic Heritage Concert Hall in Bloomington on the afternoon of February 3. This concert will present a fantastic 2019 music feast for Minnesota Chinese Americans and the mainstream audience, playing a joyous melodious chapter in the celebration of the Chinese New Year! The top Chinese musicians from the Chinese and US music industries will not only demonstrate their exquisite interpretation of classical and modern music, they will also bless the Twin Cities audience with the language of “music” without borders!

“A Rainbow of Rhythms” – 2019 Chinese Musicians Spring Festival Concert will be the very first concert performed jointly by these Chinese professional musicians and artists in Minnesota, making it the premier music event during the 2019 Spring Festival which begins February 5th. The featured artists constitute a quite powerful assemblage; they are the first class and rising Chinese musical talents from different music circles, including the famous Chinese pipa player and composer Gao Hong, the famous tenor, China’s National Class-A artist Zhou Jinxing, a rising Chinese pop star songwriter, singer and cellist Mindia Luo , a well-known Chinese bassoonist Yu Ye, Minnesota Greater Twin Cities Symphony Orchestra guest lead bassoonist Zhang Hui and University of Minnesota Conservatory Music PhD student, accompanying pianist Lin Xin.

The concert will showcase a mixture of joyful celebration, lyrical humor, elegance, and popular, unique and novel New Year’s music. These Chinese musicians will intertwine Chinese and Western classics with American pop music to produce a unique interpretation of Chinese and Western musical instruments and vocal music performances. The Twin Cities audience will have an opportunity to experience the passionate and perfect blend of Chinese and Western music, enjoying a refreshing, breathtaking visual and audio sensation, the delightful Chinese New Year blessings and the heavenly sound of music from the musicians!
